Thomas Holton’s work is personal in a very literally sense of the word. Sometimes I want explicitly socially relevent photography, but other times a close connection between a photographer and his work seems somehow more genuine and intuitive. I don’t think it’s quite as simple as the intellectual vs the emotional, but Holton’s work certainly feels more emotional than intellectual.
